History of Cedarwood
The cedar tree has been a historical presence for ages and is known as one of the oldest aromatics. The Cherokees believed cedars contained the spirits of the departed and prayed to them often to keep their memories secure, while Egyptians used cedarwood essential oil for perfume and mummification purposes.
